EU BC&E 2012 - 20th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition 2012 in Milan
The Conference will take place from 18 to 22 June 2025 at the Milano Convention Centre - MiCo in Italy. It will be the International Biomass Conference in 2012. The international science and technology Conference of the 20th EU BC&E comprises more than 800 presentations, in plenary, oral and visual sessions. The 20th EU BC&E attracts policy and industry decision makers through several parallel events addressing special topics which are currently in the focus of discussion. The subjects of the 20th EU BC&E result from the experiences of the previous successful EU BC&E conferences. The subjects have been further developed and structured and include the most recent scientific, technology and market trends. All biomass specialists are invited to contribute and to present innovative developments, progress and scientific results to the global biomass community.
The Exhibition will take place in parallel to the Conference at the Milano Convention Centre - MiCo. The 20th EU BC&E, one of the most important events of the biomass sector, provides an excellent international platform for exchange between experts in the field of research, industry and politics. The exhibition area for the 20th EU BC&E will be expanded in 2012 and adapted to the new industry topics.
4 good reasons to join the exhibition:
About 2,000 participants from 70 countries are expected to discuss new markets, production methods and applications, as well as policies, standards and incentives in the field of biomass.
The visit of the Exhibition is open to the public.

Finale national Conference 2012 in Gorizia

2G Bioethanol Production: Technological development, and Agroenvironmental and economic implications 2012 in Bologna
SWEET FUEL PROJECT - BRIEF ABSTRACT
Increasing world market prices for fossil fuels, driven by limited reserves, growing demand and instability in producing regions, now render renewable fuels economical. Such fuels are also a pathway to reducing GHG emissions and mitigating climate change. Bio-ethanol from crop plants is a promising, partial solution to sustainably satisfy the energy demand for road transport. Fuel-food crops can thereby help reconciling energy and food security issues. This project will breed for improved cultivars and hybrids of sorghum for temperate, tropical semi-arid and tropical acid-soil environments by pyramiding in various combinations. The Consortium is composed of 10 members from France (leader), Italy, Germany, Brazil, India, Mexico and South Africa, including a seed company. Project outcomes will be new germplasm, sustainable practices and commodity chain concepts adapted to each target region. The duration of the project is 5 years.

The 4th International Congress of Energy and Environment Engineering and Management (CIIEM) 2011 in Merida, Spain
The 4th International Congress of Energy and Environment Engineering and Management (CIIEM), organized by teachers belonging to the Areas of Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre (Portugal) and the School of Industrial Engineering of the Extremadura University (Spain), has the main target of joining academic, researchers, engineers, consultants and firms from the Energy and Environment Sectors, in order to interchange experiences, present advances and new projects about the rational and efficient use of Energy and the Energetic Conversion Systems, and also to analyse the different solutions focused to reduce the impact caused due to energetic systems on the environment and the environment preservation, concerning other activity sectors and society. In this way, this Congress attempts to contribute to reaching a sustainable development in our countries.
In order to reach this purpose, in CIIEM will take place not only all the research topics and development works concerning Energy and Environmental Engineering and Management, but also those belonging to areas closely related to these two disciplines.
According to this philosophy the Congress has been structured into six different scientific areas, in which all the communications will be distributed depending on the following items:
• Energetic Installations
• Renewable Energies
• Environmental Management. Environmental Engineering
• Environmental Education
• Materials for energy. Clean Materials.
• Energetic and environmental Project Management
The presentation of the papers will be made orally or by means of panels or posters
The publication will be made not only in the summary book but also in CD-ROM format with the whole content of the papers. Therefore, those communications having enough quality (once the revision process is passed) will have the possibility of being published in International Journals.
This 4th edition will also have a publication edited by the congress itself, where those articles which haven’t been selected by the editors for the scientific journals, will be published.
Finally, on behalf of the Organizing Committee we would like to invite all the Scientific Community to participate in this project, presenting papers or communications related to any of the proposed areas.
