    Dear members
    dear all,
the Esse Community grow up continuously! After few months of life, we have had contacts from 120 different Countries in the world (we are waiting for the other Countries!!!).
Our target is to become a point of reference for who is interested to better understand the potential use of sweet sorghum for bioethanol production, for who is interested to find news, articles, information about this biofuel chain. And to do this we need to know and to spread all the opinions, all the ideas and the experiences that circulate in the world.
We hope that in the future, also thanks to the contribution of our expert members, and of course of the future members, in this Community you can find different news, in our articles, forum, and events. And of course we need to discuss the different steps that are involved in the bioethanol production from sweet sorghum.
We know that in the world there is a great interest in the cultivation of sweet sorghum: there is innovative researches in different Countries, different pilot initiatives in USA, Latin America, Asia, Africa, Australia and of course Europe. The seed companies and Research Institutes start to produce new and better varieties of sweet sorghum, adapted for different pedoclimatic conditions and requirements (food, feed, fuel).
Sweet sorghum could be a good alternative to the corn or sugar cane use for bioethanol production. And the perspectives for the future are really interesting, talking about lignocellulosic bioethanol. And the ESSE COMMUNITY grow up together with the interest in sweet sorghum: in the next weeks we plan to publish (free download) our EARLY MANUAL, in which we discuss about the different steps of sweet sorghum bioethanol production, a starting point for future and constructive discussions, in order to improve the knowledge of this bioenergy chain.
We will wait you in the next days!

    dear members,
    dear all,
the Esse Community continuously grows up!! Now we have reached the target of 100 members and contacts from more than one hundred different countries.
This means that people around the world are really interested in the wide number of topics, news and articles weekly published in the Community, and in the future we are planning more information, technical publications, and more services and forum discussions in order to improve the basic and specific knowledge about the bioethanol production using sweet sorghum and to try to build a right and sustainable model for the EU conditions.
Thanks to all of you for your active participation.

The SWEETHANOL project has been presenting at the XIX European Biomass Conference and Exhibition in Berlin on 7 June 2011. The great number of present people during the presentation of the work and the high level of the questions about the sweethanol topics and model demonstate the interest in the integrated bioetanol production from sweet sorghum.
In particular, the energetic exploitation of the by-products through the power generation and termal energy production from the bagasse and the potential use of stillage for biogas production evidenced a great interest.

All the collected discussion elements will be reported in the next technical workshops in order to improve the quality of the bioethanol model in EU.

Thanks to all the people that participate at the event

With over 13.000 visits, from 148 different countries, the Esse community want to become a real contact point for people interested in the bioethanol production from sweet sorghum.
About the early manual, we have registered more than 300 downloads, and in the next months we are going to produce different manuals dedicated to specific topics.
Good results also from the workshops in Italy and in Spain, with a lot of participants.

    Thanks a lot

    Dear all,
the Esse community reaches the target of 181 members. Over than 20.000 visits, from 153 different countries (welcome to the new 5 countries in our Community, people from all the places in the world are interested in the produciotn of bioethanol from sweet sorghum), about 400 manuals downloaded in English and different local languages. These are the main numbers of the Online Community.
Starting from here a lot of contacts between members have been occurred and an agreement between companies from Italy United States and Uruguay has been signed too.
We are on the right way. Thanks to all of you
